>From Chapter III (Character Generation, Section 5 -
Skills)
Skills are categorised as Physical, Mental or Social
and are assigned levels from Basic, Expert, Advanced,
to Master which indicate the maximum level of
development (40%, 70%, 90%, 100%). Skills have
prerequisites depending on the complexity of the
activity which are assigned minimum levels. The more
complex the activity, the more prerequisites there
will be and the greater the degree of specialisation.
All children are raised initially to complete Basic
level in their skills and they usually gain some
Advanced Skills as well, or some other Novice skills
(e.g., Basic Maneuvers - Water).
[EDIT: Currently this list is up to Early Modern
period; needs further elaboration!]
Basic Skills (skill rating no higher than 40%, each
experience point provides 4%)
General Knowledge (specialised according to society),
Social Norms (specialised according to culture), Basic
Maneuvers (specialised according to medium)
Advanced Skills (skill rating no higher than 70%, each
experience point provides 3%)
Mental Skills (all have General Knowledge as the
prerequisite)
Mathematics, Meditation, Gunnery, Mechanics, Medic,
Fishing, Hunting, Gathering, Farming, Husbandry,
Astronomy, Research, Planning, Biology, Chemistry,
Physics, Environs, Literature (culture), Geography,
Dream, Gaming
Social Skills (all have Social Norms as a
prerequisite)
Language (specialisation), Ethics, Relationship
(specialisation), Animalism, Seduction, Poetry,
Aesthetics, Write, Evaluate, Mesmerise, Law
(specialisation), Theology (specialisation), Commerce,
Savoir-Faire, Streetwise, Carousing, Diplomacy,
Acting, Intimidation, Compose, Teaching,
Interrogation, Psychology
Physical Skills (all have Basic Manuevers as a
prerequisite)
Lovecraft, Drive, Ride, Pilot, Ski, Stealth, Sport,
Melee, Shoot, Fighting, Acrobatics, Dancing, Singing,
Play (specialisation), Drawing, Craft (specialisation:
cloth, wood, glass, leather, metal etc), Contortion,
Sleight, Exo-Skeleton, Skate
Expert Skills (skill rating no higher than 90%, each
experience point provides 2%)
Mental Skills
Mathematics (branch), Meditation (style), Ethics
(fields e.g., meta-ethics, normative, applied)...
Physical Skills
Drive (vehicle type), Ride (species), Pilot (vehicle
type), Ski (medium), Melee (weapon type), Shoot
(weapon type)...
etc.
Master Skills (skill rating no higher than 100%, each
experience point provides 1%)
