The first to arrive at the campsite of the Telmori
within Seguarane Forest was the Aldryami Icthya,
previously alerted by runners of the present of the
wolf-brethren. Due to her warnings of the presence of
the Children of Vivamort, the Telmori were able to
bring many archers forward with flaming arrows and
with this they were able to send the Vampire scouts
fleeing. The Telmori thanked the Aldyrami and took her
to their base, whereupon she met the quarry of the
Fellowship, the Immortal leader of the Telmori,
Wilkairtha.
For a year or so this name had taken up much of the
Fellowship's mind, wanting to know his form and
nature, a being made part from troll, part from dwarf,
part from elf, part human-Telmori. He did not
disappoint in the slightest. Whilst with a humanoid
form, Wilkairtha was tall and strong and like the
wolf-brethren with barely an ounce of fat to be seen.
The tone of his skin was a dark grey, like than of
many trrolls and dwarves. Most unusual however was his
skin*; it was hard and smooth, like that of the
stonemen, yet flexible and warm like that of the
Aldryami. He had neither hair like the humans, nor fur
like the trolls, nor brush bristles like the mostal,
nor leaves, like the elves. Instead, many coloured
slivers of the same material as his skin adorned his
head. Across his back was slung a single-headed,
two-handed axe, encrusted with runes of power.
Wilkairtha thanked Icthya for her assistance and
sought leave to his wolf-brothers entering the forest,
citing the positive relationship between the Telmori
and the Aldryami of Kanthor's Forest. His words were
passionate, yet clearly restrained. He made mention of
the Children of Vivamort, and how he and his people
could not allow the rise of the Vampire Kings in
Seshnela once again. "But", he indicated, "they are
many and we are few". On the ground there was a
magnificant diarama of the landscape south of the
Seguarane Forest to the Asgolan Fields, site of many a
battle of yesteryear. In addition to the geographical
features there were also figurines of the two armies,
wolf and vampire that confronted each other. The
former were greatly outnumbered. **
The next to arrive was the rump Fellowship led by
Anzhur Sinnersbane, bearer of the Red Banner of
Valour; Aalmon Far Rider, Prince of Peace; Karala
Who-Walks-With-White-Wolf; the Once-Great Troll Beast;
and Jareena the Healer of Jonating. Again they were
given audience with Wilkairtha and exchanged greetings
with Icthya. They had arrived on the banks of the Deu,
and were taken quickly to the campsite. The Mostal of
the Iron Mountains who had journeyed with them in his
barge made a small fortune with his sale of pig iron
which the Telmori were just enough not to simply
appropriate.
To the rump Fellowship Wilkairtha was somewhat more
curt. He wanted to know why they were here, and in
such numbers. He said that the smelt of Talor the
Laughing Warrior, enemy of the Telmori and
Chaos-touched. He angrily looked Anzhur Sinnerbane
over and over, and said he recognised the Banner from
many years ago, and had bested those who had fought
under it in the past and would willingly do so again.
However he expressed great interest in Karala,
assuming at first that she was a slave of the
Fellowship, and expressed surprise when he discovered
she was a willing member and was not for sale.
The last to arrive was Kalen the Mostal. Rotterex
informed the stoneman that once he had been a familiar
to a family of sorcerers whose tomb the bazak now
inhabited. Through this enhanced intelligence, he had
become a leader of the bazak on Seguarance City. When
Kalen agreed to the price of twenty deer per month, he
provided the Mostal with a collared bazak. "Release
this creature, when you can assure me of the agreement
and tie a message to his collar. Then, and only then,
will we fix the broken king. Kalen was then sent
outside the city walls, as he had arrived, where he
was promptly accosted by the Aldryami who informed him
of Icthya's moves. Following in step, Kalen was easily
captured by the Telmori, who know much more about
walking in forests than he did, and brought to
Wilkairtha's presence.
* Go on. Guess the material and gain yourself a Hero
Point.
** I couldn't resist. Icthya gets a Hero Point :-)
