> He paused and took out his crystal chess pieces, gazing at them
> thoughtfully for a moment "I would not like to upset your thinking but
> in my own humble way I have been studying the position and - perhaps I
> am wrong - I think this piece may be missing" and he stepped over to
> place the black king off to one side of the main battle yet overseeing
> all that went on. "If my divination is right then the piece is named
> Theoblanc and is the key to the whole thing."

Once Icthya had worked out to whom Aalmon was referring - she knew so little
of human politics and these names all sounded the same to her - she told her
companion that the undead were indeed bearing the colours of the Rokari
Church.

"You think this priest is the key because he leads that army there," she
pointed at the figurines which glowed with a dull leaden unlight, "or you
think this is a ruse? If a ruse, we must find a way to unearth his plan."

"In the meantime," she turned to Kalen, "I am pleased to see you return,"
she coughed lightly, "but you say you spoke with a rat who promised to
complete the task if we provide him with twenty deer a month? I trust you
negotiated a little?"

Icthya's heart sank as she came to the realisation that the stoneman hadn't
bothered to negotiate and likely didn't even know what a deer was. "Well,
we'll have to find a way. I shall undertake this oath if I have to do the
hunting myself, so you can let the rat creature go."

Icthya then asked Kalen what he meant by a month. It wasn't a term with
which she was familiar.

OOC: Do months exist in Glorantha?
