Baffled by this words, Azhur looked hopelessly at his father and at the present Battle Seers. How could his father speak so openly of heresy and against the official dogma of the Hrestoli Church of Loskalm? Could it be possible that the Battle Seers were accomplices or even just neutral in such debate?
Azhur tried to catch back his escaping reason and added facts as fast as his thoughts accepted to develop: of course no big secret could stay hidden for long to the eyes of the Battle Seers Chapter and anyway, one day, Azhur would have had to face the question with his possible masters, of course these wizards were dedicated to help strategists and lords and probably his father even if heretic
but what kind of answer could be the right one? Torn between his son obedience and his religious education, Azhur even wondered for a while if this paternal attack could have been a part of the test itself?
Lost and battered, Azhur decided to remain true and to expose frankly his dilemma:
- My dear father, among your sons, Im certainly not the first in place and in virtues. However, following the advices you gave me in my childhood, I have dedicated my life to protect your name, your house, your people, your country and your honor
and this not only because they were also mine! I spent my early years at your service in your own castle, learning every day from your own example, then I protected your forests and properties against intruders, learning to live simply among the simple folk...
He looked at his father, just feeling weak and transparent, and he added:
- Now after several years of lonely wander, with the Holy Book of Good King Siglat as only guide for my soul, you ask my judgment of errant knight. I can just tell you this: I havent spent all this time in studies on sophisticate questions of faith and belief, but in quests for justice among the poorest
If you are asking me if Im taking lessons from a dangerous spirit that pretends to be a reflect of a pagan god
Ill be sorry but I have just seen a criminal thing taking away the life of a gentle and valiant knight of ours, but I recognize
that as it is said that this pagan god is somehow linked to death, this act probably doesnt prove anything in a way or in an other!
The tone of this last statement was quite convinced and combative, showing a will forged in adversity, but Azhur softened his voice after:
- But if you are asking me if Im an enough trustworthy son, ready to quest for foreign and alien knowledge, even at the risk of putting his soul in danger, then I will answer you that I am, since my first breath, your humble debtor and servitor. Youre a far more advanced man than I am. You went with successes through all castes tests and you know better than me where can lay our chances in this Hero Wars. I just can add that, for this type of travel and search, anyone will need all the understanding that he can gather and all the blessings confident and loving ones can give him.
Lowering his head and bending with obedience in front of so many superiors, Azhur concluded:
- Please, Father, permit me, just as Hrestol did, to learn from my own errors but also to advance with my own convictions, and please, wise Seers, let me learn from you how to discern better among the many treacherous ways that the Fellowship of Talors Weapons will soon have to face.
OOC : Masks are falling so abruptly!
I hope that this writing will make a dramatic and interesting reading for everyone.
Anyway, things can only be clearer after this scene.
Good Sunday to all ! :-)

Objet : [HQ Ignorance] Sinnerbane's test
Along with many of the Order of the Swallow Lord
Daymere met his son, Azhur Sinnersbane, and the Battle
Seers Chapter tested the young knights knowledge of
liturgy and doctrine. But as Sinnersbane answered the
questions put to him, he emphasised the need for
purity and goodness to reach the state solace and
immortality, and he condemned the heresies, and called
the Stygian beliefs a dilution of God's will, and that
they were no better than the pagans and death at the
hands of jealous spirits awaited them.
And Lord Daymere rose to his feet, red in his face and
interrupted the test. He bellowed at his son, and
demanded that he explain what he had learned from his
experience with the Nameless Man, for rumour spake
that the apparition was an aspect of what the pagans
name Grandfather Mortal. He reminded his son that soon
he would be travelling to the Nidan Mountains, and
perhaps even beyond to Arkat's homeland of Ralios,
where the Henotheists have Power; and there it is
rumoured that Arkat has indeed returned and in many
different form.
"What say ye, good son?", Lord Daymere spake.
"Everywhere you go there seems to be new and more
evidence that the Hero Wars begin and that mighty
spirits and their followers are many. Would it not be
an irresponsible danger represent the Supreme Diety
with acknowledging these Powers?"
