Ah, not quite. My reading (and I could be wrong) is
that Liturgist and Apprentice are separate, but
parallel, occupations. Basically, the Apprentice stays
at the Church and learns magic whereas the Liturgist
goes out and promotes the world.
The Church thought it was best that you do the latter
:-)
