She stared down at the strange and alien city spread out below her,  
with its bizarre teeming of Humanity,  and bit her lip pensively,

"Karala Walks-With-The-Great-White-Wolf, you are weirded," had said  
the Old Men, "never have the People had one so young so gifted in  
dealing with the Other. Your beauty, strength of will and courage  
inspire us all , yet we grieve for your past and fear your curse. All  
you meet love you, and against those who don't, your Predator will  
guard you. Take the Whistle of Tongues and this shiny stuff they so  
value (1), and return Healed."

And so the Council had chosen her to venture into the Lands of Men...

Stuff in quotes my 100 words - I make it 68 word so far, will add  
more later. (1) "shiny stuff they so value" counted as one word  
because I could just say "gold" but far less poetic I think :). Have  
to work on defining Practice etc.

Dire wolf companion (I deliberately chose a fierce predator as an  
especially fearsome and resonant symbol for the Reindeer people, but  
haven't yet worked out a back-story - probably tied in with the  
tragic history & curse thing somehow)
