Skeptical,
Azhur the loskalmi knight shook his head. With a low and grim tone, he expressed his doubts:
- “While good peoples, in fact most of them true believers in the
One God will dispute and probably die for petty questions of power,
thus getting weaker, the only enemy will grow stronger. If everybody
wants to go to war and die for a cause, there is a full Kingdom
dedicated to death and mass destruction...”

He
turned to the Princess
Erengazor and described by the details the horror of the exactions of
the Kingdom of War, which left the deprived survivors no other
solution than to enlist in the ranks of their conqueror to plunder in
their turn their neighbors with whom they had lived until now so
peacefully. This Realm of Gore extended as an epidemic over the surface of the
world and nothing seemed to be able to stop it.

Azhur
then pledged for peace and begged the noble overlord to provide her side
not only with her best warriors but also with some of her best
negotiators, because two armies ready for the battle could be much
more useful against the Kingdom of War than two giant piles of
severed corpses of two exhausted camps.

[OOC]

To support his demand Azhur uses every argument he can find (Lev will choose what he wants)

For the polite form of his demand:
- Castle Squire 18
- Malkioni Custom ? (derivated from Loskalmi Customs 17)
- Arkati Customs ? (derivated froom trollish custom 14)
- Chivalry Tradition 17

For being able to speak and influence the princess (noble caste):
- Mix Easily with Other Castes 17
- Obey Superior 17

For correct speech:

- Speak Loskalmi 17 (Ralian -5?)

For military arguments:
- Military History 17
- Witnessed and Endured the Atrocities of the
Kingdom of War 13

For the style of the demand:
- Touched by death 13 (Azhur seems to know what he means in a way that few people can also understand)
- Skeptic 13 (to communicate his feeling on the long-term issue of such a battle)
- Charitable 17 (for the victims of kingdom of War in general)
- Brave 18 (for not appearing as a coward trying to avoid battle)
- Loyal 17 and Honorable 17 (for giving an advice without undermining the leader position)

For non-said influences:
- Third Son of Lord Daymare 18
- Father = also leader of a Secret Arkati Heresy 13
- Liturgist of the Battle Seers Chapter 13 (predict unclear future issues?)
- Member of Talor's Fellowship 15 (heros of the day)

Other point to the game master:

Azhur is attracted by the feeling he get at the Saint Humakt church, but being still fully agnostic and skeptic, he has no reason for a full conversion now.
If an advisor from this church will present himself to him, he will gladly have him among his own sidekicks, testing his capacity to reveal sprititual answers as Azhur does with Aalmon the weird moonist. Perhaps some Competent liturgists of Saint humakt are present in the elite squadron sent by the princess? (Azhur could then spent some HP to get a new sidekick, now or later? depending on HP needs for the Banner).

Thanks
:-)
Loran

Scene 23: The Overlord of Senatos

On the eve of the second day after their arrival at
Syran, city of glass and bronze, the Fellowship of
Talor were given audience with Princess Erengazor, the
Overlord of Senatas, most mighty of the petty-states
of Salefester. The fortune of this dominion had
recently improved with the appearance of the Five
Arkats, with the population taking heart after many
years of decline due the alleged failure of the
state-supported Proven Appearance religion.

The Fellowship is escorted from the gates of Crystal
Palace in the centre of the city. Legend has it that
this is very place were glass was blown and looking at
the quality of the work within, it is easy to see how
the legend was born. Surrounding the Palace proper is
a greenhouse wherein are many most exotic plants from
far away lands of which only the most travelled of you
are vaguely aware of; Hornilio, Jolar, Kimos, Kothar
and Wongarissi of Pameleta, is what the signs say.
Further is the keeper of the greenhouse, a bizarre and
narrow-eyed creature who describes himself as a Red
Elf.

In the centre of the greenhouse, just before the
Crystal Palace is a magnificant glass fountain, made
out to be like a tree with each individual leaf
sparkling in the light with a prism of colours.
Jareena detects the exceptional purity of the water.
As beautiful as this monument is, one cannot notice
the sign at its base, etched in gold, a gift from the
Golden Dwarf of Bad Deal.

Within Crystal Palace you are escorted by elite guards
of the Dominion who are armed with but appears to be
glass tubes and wear crystalline armour. The wear
runes of the Mineral form, the element of Fire, and
the abilities of Mastery, Magic and Craft. Within the
throne room the Fellowship meets with the Dominion
Overlord; she greets the party enthusiastically, and
touches them, even and especially the Trollkin. She
tells them that they are truly blessed to meet Arkat,
even in a Troll form, for they have met a living God,
and seeks to learn as much as she can of their
meeting, their quest, etcetera.

Princess Erengazor, with her regal bearing, noble
beauty, and fine but simple clothes, also mentions
that your ally Judge Kraken, has departed to Seshnela
where it is believed he is joining the armed forces of
the highly conservative Kingdom of Arolanit. She
explains, sotto voce, that this is part of a great
conspiracy between members of the petty Kingdoms of
Safeslter, the Kingdom of Arolanit and the Duchies of
Nolos and Pasos in Seshnela itself.

"The King of Seshnela, Guilmarn The Fat, has continued
his rule like his father. He ensures his oppressive
rule by assasination of his lords. He is unpopular,
but holds great power. We have allied ourselves with
rebels and neighbouring Kingdoms to destroy this
Kingdom and carve it asunder. Of course, we of Senatos
will gain little from this, so far it is from our
borders, but the lands of Holut can gain much. Thus,
as an act of goodwill between our two lands, I have
offered a group of elite soldiers and mercenaries to
attend in the invasion of the corrupt lands."

"As mentioned it would seem that your friend has
already departed with a similar objective in mind; the
army of Holut will meet with the Kingdom of Arolanit
and march of Seshnela. Perhaps the opportunity will
arise for you to meet up with him and combine forces.
If of course, you agree to become part of these
forces. I promise you that you shall be well rewarded,
greater that most mercenaries."
