Through myriad journeys in the darkness under the
fortress Rotterex takes Kalen to the Bazak colony,
eventually exiting into an old mausoleum and
columbarium with numerous holes in the walls and
crevices many obviously created by bazak themselves.

There are some four score of the armored carnvivorous
rodents present, not including the young who probably
number half that quantity again. A number are clearly
hungry, some are even quite weak.

Rotterex notices Kalen surveying and counting the
bazak. "Yes. We are starving. Our numbers are too
great and there simply isn't enough food anymore."

"We can help you stoneman, but you must help us. We
saw what happened when you tried to 'fix' the 'broken'
king. Well, we can certainly achieve the result you
desire."

"But this is the deal; I have journeyed outside the
walls, and have seen what has been done. A mighty
forest indeed! Well, that will virtually end trade
here."

"Twenty fallow deer carcases per month, delivered
here. For that price we will 'fix' your 'broken'
king."
