Kalen ponders, "Hmm, this could be difficult. But there must be a way. I wonder if there are any tunnels in the area under the castle, especially near the river wall." There may be a need to create a diversion say in the prison area or at the granery, they will be worried about the food supplies, but an outbreak of violence in the prison sector so it wouldn't arouse too much curiousity.

The thrice-walled city of Seguarane is met east and
south by the Deu River. Now surrounded by a forest
mainly on the north and west, the people of the
corrupt city are trapped - but defended. Some
two-thirds of the twelve thousand essences lived in
Seguarane town, outside the walls - and have been
dealt with. However, within the walls are the elite of
the city; the most wealthy merchants, the most skilled
craftsmen, the knights and wizards

Built on raised hills, the castle has one entrance on
the south, protected by walls and moat and a
well-fortified barbrican which has defeated a number
of initial advanced. To the east, a narrow winding
cliff-way path leads from the Deu harbour, across
drawbridges and chasms, to the Water Gate. Within
there, in the Outer Ward, most of the city's
population resides. Beyond that is the Middle Wall and
the Middle Ward, of which there are but two entrances,
again on the east and south. It is here were most of
the soldiers have fortified themselves. Finally,
within that is the Inner Walls and Ward, the Gatehouse
and the four towers (the notorious Prison Tower is in
the South-East). In the Inner Ward there is the Great
Hall of the Bailifes dynasty, the granary and chapel.
Here, some of the most mightiest wizards of Seshnela
can be found along with the "broken component", King
Guilmarn the Fat.

For a realworld comparison, it is somewhat like
Harlech Castle in design and position, although thrice
its size and population, and obviously with magical
defenses. One can also presume that references to "the
sea" for Harlech are actually the Deu River.

Floorplans of middle and inner wards, derived from
captured members of the population etc. May not be
accurate.
