Effectively, something like that, perhaps not in the words that will be spelled out Azhur's mouth but certainly what will be in his mind.

Azhur still strongly believes in a Great Creator, but Religions appears now to him as an humanly thus imperfect (if not wrongly) institutions instead of rightfulhouses of faith. That why he is preparing a mass for an atheist where he should keep quiet.
So I don't think that this faint rest of his faith in God should be seen a negative augment, but surely it will push Azhur to heresy or at least in some attitude that will make problems for him in regard of the orthodox view of his own church...

But he is questing, if life can be resurrected, why not true faith ?

I think "Agnostic" might count as a negative augment
rather than a positive here... Unless you want to do
something like the Agnostic's Prayer from Roger
Zelazny's "Creatures of Light and Darkness"..
