Well I have to make some comments on what is going on.
1. On Azhur as a king :
First, Bravo to Sam for the movement he made, at meta-level he put both the PC and the player in a difficult position by consciously or unconsciously pointing out my very inner contradictions... very interesting situation indeed, but now I need your advices.
(I have discovered that OOC comments is the biggest advantage of PBeM over IRL RPG : we have time to make side discussions on the game.)
Being a terrible ambitious maximisator powermonger, discovering my PC in position to claim a kingdom is quite flattering for me, and especially because it wasn't my goal at all as a player in this game.
At player level, I find Ichtya's proposal terribly seducing :
- Being a part-time king of New Seshnela, Azhur could finally use his old arkati background to wake up the old Earth Power of the goddess Seshna (to me, all the misfortunes of this country come from the way the seshnelan authorities are treating their local earth goddess since Dawn), as a side effect, this movement could also help to integrate more closely Jareena within the group and help the fellowship to be less "western sorcery" like. Aalmon's role as mediator between Divine and Sorcery philosophies is also obvious (if he doesn't get 'nuts' too much before ;-)
- With his credo of "Duty, Chevalry and Equality", I feel confident to make Azhur building closer links between different peoples like elves, beastmen, telmori, humans and... awaken bazaks! (perhaps as a kingly symbole of unity, like the secret of the Graal in John Boorman's film Excalibur).
- With his hrestoli background but lack of dogmatism since his spiritual death, Azhur could try to offer a renewal to the old Hrestoli faith and a second chance to the local western faith (in his own effort to ressurect his own faith in Churches).
The very direct advantage for the Quest is to get closer to Ralios, stop war within the West and help securing Fronela when the time for strong alliances will come against the Kingdom of War, the probable local arch-enemy in the coming Hero Wars.
At game level, Sam's proposal for a Regent withdraws the objections of both blocking the quest of Talor's Weapons and overflowing the game with boring politics and Kingdom management.
Finally all of this sounds great to me... but... but I'm not sure that it would be so appealing to the other players. I absolutly do not wish to take the central position in our game (and I strongly fighting this trend in me, even if you can't see my poor successes there :-D).
Of course at PC level, Azhur feels for the moment absolutly uncompetent and he lives his doubts on Religion as a great weakness that can only be reavealed if he becomes too visible, thus ruining all his efforts to stay an honorable person...
Then to me, it's then very easy to go in either direction:
=> Becoming a King is exciting but I fear quite selfish from me (even if I'm ready to respect my fair share of "Light on the scene" and to help others to climb the ladder too) while staying a more modest adventurer is logical and perhaps more easy to handle for everyone.
Of course the GM could have the terminal argument on that, just by saying "I do not wish that direction for my game!" and I will accept this without problem.

2. On refusing Wilkairtha's axe
I was trying to get the bearer with the axe, because Wilkairtha has certainly a greater mastery than anything we could ever achieve, but I'm very happy if Knarl get it...
It seems to me better both within the story (more logical from a telmori to an other telmori, instead of an official descendant of his enemy) and within the game (giving an asset to Kevin will help to balance power and interest among players, I think).
3. On the Telmori's curse Heroquest.
I like the idea developped by Nick and I'm ready to go in this way.
Karala deserves definitively a greater part of the game!
(and a little devil is muttering in my ears "and it would be a good political move for a king of Peace in Seshnela!" Argh! Get away! get away! :-D)
4. To Lev : How does Lady Marianne takes the idea of being a fertile earth for Azhur's seeds ? All Azhur's sincere courteous rhetoric must appear quite hyprocritical in the light of Icthya's biological statement! :-S (once again Sam, thank you ! :-P)
I still wonder how Azhur can react (blushing ?). Icthya is just a plant so i'm 'screwed', yes! LOL!
