Ok i'm back at home now, with the HQ rules in my hands.
You all went very fast on this topic and this without waiting for me.
I find the movement quite nasty and unfair, so I ask for a right of answer, but I will only oppose game terms, putting away my own feelings there.
Point 1:
Resistance to Romance HQ rules p275:
- Seduce someone who is married or in love 5W to 20W2.
I don't agree with the absolut 14 defaut resistance against magic, which is only the basic natural resistance of the mundane world. 
Please read HQ rules p98 which specify sample resistances exemples from pages 274 to 275 as valid.
Please read "Resistance to Magic" chapter and espacially the "personal resistance" (p99) sub-chapter:
- "Beings resist enemy magic with their best relevant ability or keyword, whether mundane or magical... etc"
- "Healthy" is compared to "Resist Desease"
- It advised to be creative  with the way to use an ability to resist magic.
- Depending on circumstances, characters can call on cult knowledge, a magical ability or even a relationship (and if Love isn't a relationship, what then?). Piety can even be used to resist magic even at the cost of improvisation.
If 14 was always the resistance, why should we care about deserving HP to buy masteries in magic (the highest costs in improvement !)
Point 2:
Possible blessings for engagement from the Abiding Book (HQ rules p159.)
- Be content with life (why will you want something else than to marry with him?)
- Find peace (to accept the changes about to come)
- Renew faith (Love is a miracle blessed by the holy mariage ceremony, bless the Invisible God, rejoice and prepare yourself)
- Absolve sin (prepare yourself for your new life as a good wife)
- Resist lust (St Rokar knows that women are weak creatures easily tempted by the Devil... who certainly delights in tempting promised brides).
And for the next steps (just to show how Marriage is sacred) :
- Sanctify Marriage
- Curse adulterer 
I'm not saying that Marianne is obligatorily blessed, but remember that every faithful westerner goes to the church every week with the hope to be blessed for the best and Marianne was probably becoming important enough to get a specific attention from the Church authorities in Segurane and after.

That is true with a mundane seduction skill. Against magic the 
resistance stays at 14 regardless.

I can't remember all the Rokari blessings off the top of my head so I'm 
not sure if an appropriate one would have been likely.
