Its fine as it is - the love triangle is there for anyone to hang 
storylines off whenever they want. I'd guess Loran and I have the most 
opportunities but its not limited to us as Sam has noticed already.

A couple of things before I try to write a wrap-up for the scene.

The mutual fumble by Aalmon and our shape-shifting spy is currently 
unresolved, can I suggest something like :-
Aalmon is wrapped up in his own plans and oblivious to the familiar 
looking teapot which he puts next to the other drinking vessels in the 
side-room. As evening falls Tanuki has a long thirsty wait for Aalmon 
and Marianne to get past the polite pleasantries and the stash of wine 
that Aalmon "liberated" from Seguarane is right there next to him. Next 
morning Tanuki knows he must have had a good time but can't remember 
much of anything else; Aalmon knows someone was in the side-room 
draining his wine supply but he does not know who or how much they 
overheard or saw.

Also, Aalmon has Enchant Tin 20. Can he enchant some trivial magic into 
a couple of tin amulets - nothing more than each one gleaming slightly 
with whatever starlight is currently falling on the other? We should 
have wedding presents after all.
