As the third skeleton army pursued runners into the boggy ground Aalmon
decided that the Aldryami needed little more help from him for the
moment. The cloaks of darkness he had wrapped around the elves in
moments of need he now began to wrap around himself and the former Beast
but far more powerfully for the moon was waxing in power and with its
full strength even the most astute of eyes would see nothing. They moved
through the dark trees like mere suggestions of shadows, the starfire
now sheathed he avoided the foe as he moved onwards.

With a moment of calm he mulled over the events of the past few hours.
With their mighty magics the Seshenelan wizards had summoned forth a
whole army yet without the guidance of their knights they had then
ineptly turned their mighty army into a confused rabble slogging through
a bog waiting for doom to fall upon them. Azhur might be an arrogant
arse at times but he showed why the Hrestoli way was in many ways better
- having been a knight himself he would not have made the mistake for
trying to chase runners all over a forest with an army of heavy
infantry. Ah well, he would have his chance to show if he was half as
good as he thought he was. Now for the real army, the men of Nolos with
vampires at their back that had already crushed one Seshnelan force.
Azhur and his allies would have castle walls and river crossings to aid
his defence but a battle can be fought on many levels and now perhaps it
was time for Aalmon to fight this one on the levels of bribery and
treachery.

He wondered what was going through the mind of Theoblanc. He was giving
every indication of not knowing that the city was held against him, if
he was relying on a dash for the safety of the city walls to avoid the
elves and wolves then he was going to be furious when he got there. That
could make things interesting. Or perhaps he was trying something else,
he still had powerful magic to call upon and a century of ruling over
men that meant he was no fool. He wondered which it was. Worried men are
easier to fool, easier to bribe or to trick. But if he was not fooled,
if knew what was happening and still had reason to throw away the bulk
of his army so easily...what then? Time will tell.

OOC: Lev, lets pick this up whenever you feel its right. As for our
other discussion, Aalmon could go either way and what I want to do is
let the events guide my judgement. Far more fun than just rolling dice.
