Icthya can carry out the Elvish equivalent of the
"Peaceful Cut" spell among the trees so selected and
their will agree to their fate.

The trowel is probably the wrong shape/size and would
require quite a lot of work to beat into the sort of
shape that Kalen requires. I should also mention that
it's a pretty powerful magic item in its own right and
I wouldn't recommend sacrificing it.

With the expenditure of a Hero Point you could say
that a number of your arrows are made of pure copper
rune metal both in head and shaft. These would be
ideal.
