At the moment you've suffered a minor defeat (remember there is a score
of them against a few of your side, and there not all mooks!). Spending
1 HP will turn it to a marginal defeat (they have the lower roll).
i.e.,
Anzhur seeks higher ground and wheels his steed, rallying the troops
against the onslaught of pirates. "They are competent and many, but we
can still have the better of them!" Although panting heavily his
followers nod in agreement and turn to face the enemy for a second
charge.
Two Hero Points will turn it into a minor victory for your side.
