Just a game mechanical observation - it hardly ever makes sense to spend 
HP on making an augment work and those rites are currently just an 
augment. It is almost always better to spend the HP on the contest 
itself and in this case I'm not sure the +2 is making nearly enough 
difference to justify a HP. With +10 from the drugs the original roll is 
a success so its all the masteries on the curse you need to worry about.

Personally I'd think a marginal failure might be the most interesting to 
role-play ;-)
