I thought it would.

I am off for a week of sunshine in a few days so maybe I should outline
what he is doing game mechanically. He has a few options available and
he will be taking the flashiest option in each case.

In the first place he wants to go after the group of wizards and
vampires, assuming that Theoblanc is with them. On this assumption he is
probably up against a modest number of opponents who are individually
have very high abilities, on the other hand most of them are not
soldiers whereas Aalmon has real experience of being right in the middle
of a battle...

Aalmon main direct attack is Flaming Weapon 10W augmented by his
Battleaxe skill (+2) his magical axe (+1) Brave (+2) and Hate War (-1).
He will use his advantages of speed and perception to hit where it hurts
the most and to keep moving so his opponents stay on the back foot. so
See In Darkness (+5), Moon Eye (+2), Identify Foe (+2), Ride (+2) and
his horses' Fast (+3). Picking the right spot is a matter of Tactics
(+1) and maybe his nose for Trouble (+3 but possibly +2 with improv
penalty) and certainly Survive Battle (+1)

Against magical attack he will go for the flashy effect of parrying
incoming attacks with his flaming axe (Inferno Destroys Magic +5) and he
can directly resist effects such as "Drain Spirit" or "Smite Pagan" with
his Seventh Soul ability (+2)

Vampires and wizards are both known for being tricky and diverting
opponents so he will release his twinstar spirit to add its Ignore
Distractions ability (currently +20 on the full moon) so he can
concentrate on what needs concentrating on.

Baros will Augment with a +3 from his Twinstar affinity and the Aldryami
troops will hopefully augment with whatever they can. He has a +5
equipment bonus as well.
