Almost without a thought he tucks the scrolls away in his leather 
satchel. He pauses for a moment "I will need to speak with Icthya before 
I can agree to any course of action, she is my companion not a parcel 
that I am delivering. I think she will be content enough to let me help 
you if in return she has help in finding a forest to restore her spirits."

He takes his leave and finds the wilting elf "I think I have good news 
for you, there is a forest to the East of here where elves live and I 
can find a guide to help us get there. In return I have to perform my 
professional duties of delivering messages."

"The people I am dealing with are in some ways like-minded to us, they 
are pacifists by nature and oppose the wars and destruction that the 
empire uses." He rubs his unshaven chin thoughtfully "The thing is they 
did not escape the imperial oppression when my ancestors did and living 
under the iron-shod sandal of the military and the cloying control of 
the nobility has had an odd effect on some of them. A few of them can be 
pretty weird. Weirder than me, much weirder. What I am trying to say is 
that while I think they are friends some of them are odd enough that we 
should expect the unexpected."
