Azhur came back to consciousness after an undetermined
delay, but probably a very short one. Filling desperately his lungs with fresh air
again, he realized that he was hanging feet above head, taking the direction of
the most hellish place he never thought to know about… Before him, bodies, sometime
still moving violently, were conducted by sticky tongues to a red blood orifice
full of razor-shaped teeth, known as the Crimson Bat’s mouth. Bodies there were
butchered and souls were extracted by some unspeakable non-natural forces.
Realizing that this mouth was a direct gate to the unknown outside of the
Creation, he opened wide his eyes with terror. When he understood that he was about
to be thrown into direct oblivion, the temptation for taking refuge into permanent
madness grew high.
By luck or by destiny, Saint Talor’s blessings
were still active on the loskalmi ex-knight and the Spell of Joyous Fighting protected
him, saving this day his sanity, essence and physical body. Denying such
outrageous fate for him and discovering that his fist was still holding his werewolf
slaying sword, Azhur began to laugh crazily:
- “Gloria, Gloria! Holy Father of the
Universe, tell me this is a proof of your benevolent existence!”
Perhaps surprising the Bat itself with this
unexpected rush of energy, Azhur swung his blade into the tentacle, cutting it
enough to make it releasing his grip on him. Falling on the top of the next
cluster of captured victims, he added his weight to the load to make the
tentacle failing his gory mission. A pile of men dropped on the ground at a
quite distant position from where they had been taken by the monstrous gliding
demon.
The liberated orlanthi fighters were amazed
to stand up bruised and burnt but alive, shaking and frightened but still with
their soul while, in the middle of them, a western heavy mad-like knight was
waving his silver sword in the direction
of the Crimson Bat, mocking the atrocity with an savage laughter. His clothes still
smoking from the acidic saliva, Azhur shouted:
- “Come back, Queen of the Red Emperor’s Harem!
Do you fear my sting? While quite modest in size, my member is valiant and will
never be tired to plunge in you, my dear!”
At this moment, like a weird answer to his
call, the head of Crimson Bat unexpectedly exploded in a burst of bright flames
while the clouded sky opened to vomit columns of true fire on the bat priests. Suddenly
Azhur’s laughter became an uncontrollable ecstasy of pure Joy.

Ok sounds fair, I will spend 1 HP to save people around. Let's say some orlanthi.
Let me thinks about something.

Marginal victory with no HP expended.. Others got caught up in the other
tentacles

Well, if you do you might have the oppurtunity to save several, rather
than just your own skin :)
All the best,
Lev
