In a similar vein, do the two distant members of the band still have 
enough connection to the guardian to be aware that the group is still in 
existence - as it would not be for example if the whole bunch of them, 
banner included, had been eaten by the bat?

Not that Aalmon would doubt it, he will put the change in weather down 
to the group's peculiar knack for sowing upheaval and change wherever it 
passes.
