- "I understand your point but I fear that as strangers, we will be seen as unworthy whatever we do. In this case I prefer to stick on my own set of values, at least I would feel honest and honorable if I have to die... What is the value of a agreement sealed by coercion anyway? Someone in the my past (here a bitter fold appeared on Azhur's mouth when he had to think to Aalmon) taught me that every value we cherish was in fact only cultural, thus relative, but my travel experience now just suggests me that if we adopt all the cultural values me meet, our very inner soul will just be stretched in every directions, confronted to paradoxes and lead to madness. Most of our success depend on Serendipitous Seeker. In our case, is for him worthiness more important as a form or as a content or do he really care about these human matters?"
Azhur turned to his present companions.
- "Followers of Talor, You've heard my proposal. What do you think about it? Serendipitous Seeker what will be your advice? Will you speak for us and indicate to the Kralori guards this path of action as a honorable one? Do you feel it this way anyway? Perhaps we can also just see it as a surer way to safety and freedom?"

"Many would argee with you Lord Azhur. I perhaps erred in describing the
Popular People's Front as somewhere in between banditry and idealism,
for that would make them moderates. In truth, most are both; 'Thinkers
prepare the revolution; bandits carry it out'."
"I leave the choice with you", the wizard smiles wryly. "I am equally
happy to through these bandits a few coins and be on our way, or to
crack their skulls for the impertinence of their demand. Or even to side
with them to overthrow the Lei dynasty, of whom I have no love."

"That is an extremely enticing offer. We would be treated well by the
Kralori, although with some suspicion. You must understand Lord Azhur,
these people are different to us - very different. Whilst we would look
at the righteousness of such subterfuge and understand why we broke an
agreement, they would see it the other way around. The breaking of an
agreement would mean we were untrustworthy - regardless of how righteous
our cause was."

"Could the Yao Fune sect govern? Is that what you ask? Not a chance.
Again, these are different people. We are used to equality, and social
mobility. They are tied to their class for life and more. The Yao Fune
sect are merchants, farmers, craftsmen, labourers. They have no
knowledge or skill in government and the very concept would be alien to
them. Their ability would be.. well, they could stop everything if the
cause and leader was the one they selected."

"This is true Lord Azhur, and I think you begin to understand. Even in
an act of apparent deception, a Dragonnewt's word would be accepted.
Something about the illusion of truth, I suppose."
"It does make me wonder though... Do Dragonnewts have spirits of
reprisal?"
