<div>Icthya had been silent through all of the proceedings so far. The humans had blustered this way and that and her quiet suggestion that they send the scrolls with her entourage to Erontree had met with only a few murmurs, approval or not she couldn´t tell.</div> <div> </div> <div>So much dissembling and so little honest telling of facts, so many emotions hidden behind a world of lies, to the self and to the outside world. The elf had always been somewhat intrigued by humans, ever since she was a sapling, and she´d certainly pricked a few with her darts on the borders of Erontree. Not until she´d met Tanuki, though, had she actually enjoyed their company. Her small furry friend had a way of tying humans in knots which was a source of endless delight to Icthya and she had taken to studying the creatures for the good of the Woods. </div> <div> </div> <div>The Mostali had been a great surprise, and she had steered well clear of the
object in the brief journey to Dilis. The great big lumbering humans seemed quite happy to let her travel in a protected position, and it was just as well as she was liable to fall asleep and be left behind, what with it being the height of Dark Season and her away from the Song. </div> <div> </div> <div>And now, in the swamp, the twisted vegetation a corruption of her own form, the despairing Song audible above the foul waters. Worse still - a band of creatures of Oblivion rising out of the waters before them. Aalmon and the other man seemed to want to fight the creatures. Well let them. If she tried to loose a dart, she´d likely hit herself, she thought as she looked at her trembling hands. </div> <div> </div> <div>Looking about for Tanuki, she spied an inocuous black teapot bobbing about in the waters; her companion plainly didn´t want to play lover to one of these Vroluti - normally he was the instigator of seductions, not the other way around.
Bending down into the water, her leaves now slick with black filth, she whispered in Tanuki´s spout, "Can you see any fishies down there, my furry friend?"</div> <div> </div> <div>OOC:</div> <div>Icthya is, at least until I have written her up properly, planning on lying low until an opportunity to do something useful arises. in the meantime, she is going to try and discern if there are any fishies in the swamp with whom she might have a chat...Tanuki is trying to look inoccuous (sp?) but she might try and persuade him to be clever. </div> <div> </div> <div>Lev - if you want to pick out abilitites from people´s narratives, that´s grand. I will likely make OOC suggestions as I´m used to that. What I would suggest, though, is that you clarify if you are, in any given contest, intending to use a simple or an extended contest (or asking the players what they/we want, of course). Also, and I have found this to be critical, to ask people to define their
goals. E.g. Is Aalmon trying to kill these beasties or is he trying to drive them off but capture one of them? In non-combat situations I think it is even more critical.</div> <div> </div> <div>Liking the story so far lots. Cheers,</div> <div> </div> <div>Sam.</div>
