simple, indeed trivial<br>task, the flanking maneuver by a group of the Lions has caught him by<br>surprise. In front of him is the raging Oakfed fire, magnified by the<br>Fire Rune magics of the Godlearner, Rikku. Behind him the Lions chasing<br>the deliberately retreating forces of his allies of King's Broyan.<br><br>The Lions hurl their javelins at Azhur's group; bringing his forces<br>loosely together for protection, behind Othor's shield and Swordsinger's<br>magic (1), Azhur's forces face the incredible volley of javelins, but<br>survive due their defensive position, shield and magic (2). It is clear<br>that any lesser force would have fell and been killed to a man. Sensing<br>victory, the Lions close on on Azhur's forces with. their leaf-bladed<br>swords and spears; Azhur knows the time is now for any chance of escape.<br><br>But is not just Azhur who is confronting the Lasadag mercenary force;<br>the assault and javelin wings are also under
attack with their surprise<br>flanking maneuvers around the burning woods. On the left wing, Dorassa,<br>faithful servent of Jareena is joined with the Dwarf, Kalen Ironhand; on<br>the right, Karala, Rikku, and Da, Jareena's other servant. In the<br>distance, the Seeker Dragonewt stands by King Broyan, his eyes<br>unflinching as he scans the chaos; for those unfamiliar it seems as if<br>he is in a trance.<br><br>Like with Azhur's small force, the Lasadag prepare a volley of javelins<br>as their initial attack (3). With a howl, they then charge into attack.<br><br><br>1) Sword and Shield 7W1, Mounted Combat +2, Combative +2, Disciplined<br>+2, Intrepid +2, Heavy Armor +5, Blackmane +2, Othor +2, Swordsinger +1,<br>One Against Several Tactics +2, -12 four-to-one opponents = 15W1, roll 5<br>a marginal victory. <br><br>2) Either each character is Hurt or one character is Injured; you choose<br><br>3) They attack with javelins (10W) and with surprise +10 so
