In so many ways, it is not unlike the city that is under control of
The General; the puppets go about their business in their own way; there
is houses and markets, and artisans working on goods for sale (you note
however that the puppets do not eat). However all the puppets carry out
these activities in a manner that is somewhat mechanistic, somewhat
fearful, always looking over their shoulder. They watch the Fellowship's
procession walk past in sullen silence.

Unlike the land of the General, this land seems shrouded in mist and is
somewhat dimmer than the city of the General. At first there seems to be
no good reason for this, but as the light of Puppetland fades, a distant
howling becomes more and more apparent. Puppets
themselves flee the
streets and shut the doors behind them, leaving the Fellowship alone in
the dim light that exists. Without any puppet in view and an increasing
howling everyone is on their guard.

Perhaps as expected, it is not long before the Fellowship encounters more
apparitions, against bearing ghostly weapons, but this time with a visage
of the tortured, angry and insane.

"Souls for eating, to build my power", cries one.
"Darkness is not the time for the living, so soon you shall join us", says
another.
"Death becomes you... Free yourself from that body", says a third.

The Fellowship is clearly surrounded by these ghosts and they come with
hostile intent. In the distance however, the every insightful Seeker notes
a light shining from a second-floor window further down the road.

_______________________________________________
Ignorance mailing list
<a
