Meanwhile in the Lower World, the soul of Romidar is welcomed by his
gods, a hero of his people for his work in eliminating major Kotothi forces.
A shining being allows his approach, "You used my gift to good effect
even though it made you an outcast of your people. Know that your
efforts have greatly damaged plans Kototh had in place for centuries and
will delay them or even prevent them from ever occurring. More, Kototh
has lost some of his most powerful creatures and is very wroth with you
and your friends. Overall it was a fine prank to have so much damage
done by a Faerry, though had you dropped the Dragon yourself it would
have been even better. You have earned great praise, yet I am
disappointed for you could have done much more. You failed to anticipate
your needs and prepare yourself and others. That nearly caused the
failure of your mission and contributed to the deaths of you and your
friends. But what was worse is it allowed the treachery of the dwarves
to overcome the survivors. For that failure you will be given the task
of planning an appropriate punishment for those Dwarves involved in your
foul murder. Be sure the chain of events can be triggered simply,
perhaps by a gift or a visitor. It would be best if you do not take too
much time, no more than a few years so that the memory of their deeds
will still be fresh."
Romidar bows and replies simply "I will not fail you again." and
flutters off to start his task.
After Romidar has gone another shinning being asks "Are you sure about
this? What he will plan could cause a war."
The first replies, "A brief war could be allowed but it would change
his people greatly. I am still weighing his effectiveness but I think he
showed that the Faerry could rightfully earn some respect. Their magic
alone would be enough to cause the ruin of that Dwarven city, though it
cannot be allowed to weaken either side or Kototh would gain back some
of what he lost. Few think about how powerful of magic the Faerry
possess simply because they do not fight so it is used only for play or
art. Kototh had forgotten that as well, even though he tried long ago to
gain it through corruption. Sprites lost what he hoped to gain for it
was how their minds worked that allowed such magic. The Faerry cannot
long support a desire for war or they will also loose their magic. Thus
they are best used for emergencies where a sudden application of magic
will be devastating. No, this is not the time of such an emergency, but
a little training for it may be useful. We must not forget about
Kototh's allies, especially Balance. Since Kototh was weakened they
could side with him again. We do not want to start another War between
the Gods after all."
<An interesting finish, such greed and treachery by the Dwarves, though
it may only be by a few.>
