Story
-----
Agnes' Spell of Fear wore off on the Formonian giant,
who lunged at the Priest delivering a mighty blow,
almost as mighty as Tanc N'janeer's flamethrower which
sent poor Agnes reeling into unconsiousness. Sir duc
Sean rescued Agnes as Tanc continued using the
flamethrower and others peppered the beast with
missile weapons. Eventually it fell to the ground with
an almighty 'thud'.
Jaenna released the prisoners with the exception of
one poor soul who had been caught in the line of the
now empty flamethrower. They also captured Isobel's
bodyguard and pumped him for information. Underneath
the statue of the filthy devil Baal, Niall of
Berrybush found a passageway leading underneath the
temple. The party decided to take this direction after
removing some Stirges from the adjouning chapel. At a
certain point they noticed that Tanc's surrended
Orcish prisoner had taken the opportunity to escape.
Heading in a thin northern passageway underground an
early encounter was with two intelligent ant-like
creatures that carried two shields and two swords
each. Eventually defeating them, the party backtracked
from their lair past many sewerage tunnels, eventually
coming into a wide room with fourteen slaves in
individual pens were being inspected by an Arabic
merchant, an astrologer and a woman-at-arms, along
with Orcish slavers and a Fachan.
The Orcs and the merchant were quickly dispatched by
Waitabit; Sir duc and Elffin charged into the fray
with the woman and the Fachan and the others attacked
with missile weapons; the Astrologer cast slow on the
party, reducing their ability to a crawl; Elffin
webbed and eventually killed the Fachan and the
warrrioress, but not before they did great damage to
Sir duc, and indeed, eventually knocking him out.
Niall, attempted to backstab the Astrologer, but a
poor turn of the blade caused but a scratch, and the
wizard responded with a web and escaped with the
sorcerous ability to climb like a spider.
Releasing the slaves, two (William and Benjamin)
offered their skill at arms immediately. The
warrioress, Antoinette, explained she was a mercenary
whose job it was to protect the life of the merchant
(who carried a small sum of money and a map to the
slavers stockade in Navarre). A straight-talker, it
was clear that if the party did not harm him, she
would bear them no ill.
So now with a very large group they attempted to
follow the mage in his escape route. The first
encounter was more slaves operating a penning machine
in an adjoining room. The party followed that room
into a conference room, where various notes indicated
the complicity of certain members of the town militia
in the slave ring. Leaving that room they found
themselves in yet another rough hewn corridor, one
fork which led to a circular worked stone exit, with a
ladder leading up. Niall took this journey and exited
in a mausoleum where there were many wondrous items
from the Crusader states. There was also a mighty
wraith called Modral, who demanded that he leave
behind all his magic items (Niall escaped with a ring
and the continual light dagger).
Upon his return the party debated confronting the
Wraith, but chose discretion. They returned to Hugh
Town, where Sir duc contacted the old Cleric Blaine
who rounded up the good of the town to assert to
control. In the middle of the night, all the wicked
ringleaders of the Scilly Isles were rounded up. Late
in the following day, when the slaver's ship arrived
that was also impounded.
The Reeve is very impressed that you have ended the
problem of the slavers in these lands. However, there
are indications that what has occured his is greater
than a problem of the Cornish coast itself and, with
negotiations with Royal family, has recommended the
party to continue use their map and travel to the
slaver's stockade in the Kingdom of Pamplona (i.e.,
Navarre) as soon as Agnes and Sir duc Sean are
recovered.
The infidel merchant, al-Wazif, has been handed over
to the authorities as has Antoinette. It is probable
that he will be killed and she fined and returned to
her lands of southern France. William and Benjamin
have both been appointed as leaders of the new town
militia. A special clerical force shall be summoned
from Wessex to deal with the great evil that still
lurks in the old temple.
The Reeve mentions quietly that there will probably be
stern words with the current in absentia Lord of
Scilly. An opening may come up in the future. The
following information is imparted on the party as they
set sail..

10,000 experience unadjusted for completing the

Saint Agnes (Jaenna's short session is more than made

independent alignment or professional institution to
the value of 5,000 gp maximum.
