>From Friday eve through to the end of Sunday
afternoon.
UniCon 2005 main page is here;
http://www.unicon.asn.au/
Costs range from $5 for those who just want to turn up
and hang around without actually playing to $30 for
the entire Con for those who just can't get enough
gaming.
I'm going for the thirty dollar registration ;-)
Anyway... Means that GURPS Australian Noir will be on
the Sunday *after* Unicon *then* Outbreak of Heresy.
Meanwhile, some Bison Rider fun which Andrei sent me
from rpg.net - some gaming anaecdotes are truly
amusing...
Found this on RPG.net. Thought it might give giggles.
"Many years ago I was running Runequest II set in
Glorantha and the party of PC's was going into a cave
complex to hunt for choas monsters. One of the party
was a Praxian barbarian who rode a bison and insisted
that the bison accompany him into the caves. I
commented that this would probably be kinda tough to
do, since the caves were narrow in places and the
bison would surely get stuck or fall or something.
"I'm not gonna leave him outside the caves where
monsters or other barbarians will get him!"
So I let him take the bison in. And he proceeds to
*ride* the bison in the caves...
He also insists that he be in the lead, so he can
"scout" for the party. And since it is dark and
treacherous, they tie themselves together so they
don't get lost or separated. They all tie themselves
in a line behind the bison... in a cave complex filled
with sharp drop-offs...
The "scout" missed his Spot Hidden roll in the dark
(no torches, so they can't be seen by baddies) and
walks his bison off a 45' cliff. It was pretty amusing
imagining all the frantic attempts to cut the rope as
the party was pulled over the edge. I think about half
the party was killed in that little fiasco.
It was only afterwards that they decided that the
bison would have probably been better put in the
rear..."
