[Design] d100 mechanic

A cute thought from last night...
Tradition has it that a d100 roll uses '00' as 100. In
Mimesis (like RQ and other BRP games) this would be
bad juju... But why not make it good juju?
Why not read '00' as zero, an automatic critical
success (as much as is possible within the bounds of
reality)?
In addition the skill system currently rates from
00-100 (zero because it is possible to have 'no skill'
in a subject), which is really a range of 101. Why not
make it 00-99 and if anyone reaches 100 they make a
"paradigm shift" (to use Kuhn's phrase) in the subject
in question?
I'll get back to my studies now...
