[HQ Ignorance] Elvishness

Lev, I´m wrestling with some of the rules aspects of elvishness before I can really make the character. My main concern at the moment is the generic -10 penalty for elves when outside a forest. I was actually toying with the idea of a dryad rather than an elf and that´d be a worse situation.
What I figured was that if the Lunars can have a breeding programme and produce the likes of JarEel then the Aldryami most certainly can. So, I was thinking of making something which isn´t quite an elf, isn´t quite a dryad, but is a special plant produced for special circumstances. I think the main purpose of such constructs would be to sneak around planting those forests which are about to spring up everywhere. Not in the case of this plant, mind. More of a witch queen type.
If I do this, I might give her Talents like a dryad has rather than tie her to animism, essence or whatever. Unfortunately (in this instance), I am a biologist so I might get a bit involved with making it make biological sense.
Can you tell me if that´d be okay please?

p.s. I was thinking she´d have "Leaves Blossoms Behind her Wherever She Goes" as an ability. This´d allow Mark´s Belveren to follow her and get fresh materials for her sacrifices for free...(we had a whole long Get-a-Belveren-to-heal-all-the-chaos-plants (incl. dryads) heroquest thing in our game, BTW.)
