Hearing the elf's warning Aalmon cast his mind back to the journey here 
and what they had said:

Turning back in his saddle to speak with Jareena he had asked "And when 
we find this nameless man, how do you think we will persuade him to our 
cause? I confess that looking at us it is most likely that if we find 
him we will each try a different course and at best we will bewilder him 
with our bickering" he smiled wryly.

"While I have been sent as an envoy before I do not even know what 
manner of entity this nameless man is so I really do not know if my 
gods' magic or my own winning smile will carry any weight with him at 
all." He raised his voice so it would carry across the line of people 
snaking through the lush farmland "Has anyone here been an envoy to such 
a being before?"
