OOC: It warn´t the elfy doing the warning, it were the deerwoman. The one with the big fierce teeth.

I have some thoughts but I have to teach all morning. I like the flashback. It needs to be something clever, but I´ll think on what Icthya suggests in the flashback :)

Hearing the elf's warning Aalmon cast his mind back to the journey here and what they had said:

Turning back in his saddle to speak with Jareena he had asked "And when we find this nameless man, how do you think we will persuade him to our cause? I confess that looking at us it is most likely that if we find him we will each try a different course and at best we will bewilder him with our bickering" he smiled wryly.

"While I have been sent as an envoy before I do not even know what manner of entity this nameless man is so I really do not know if my gods' magic or my own winning smile will carry any weight with him at all." He raised his voice so it would carry across the line of people snaking through the lush farmland "Has anyone here been an envoy to such a being before?"

Indeed, a flashback would be most appropriate at this point. You probably discussed the issue from Sog City to the Swamp. Also the approach has been mentioned: - - - Karala bowed to Icthya, "you have great power, I would wish that we share some mushrooms and talk of Things, when a chance come our way". She then turned to the rest of the party, "Be ready, my friends, the Nameless One approaches - I know not what lies in its heart.." - - - --- Nic Hughes <nicolas.h at virgin.net> wrote:

OOC: All - do you want to have a quick flash-back scene to us debating what to do when we encounter the nameless man? The alternative is that nobody wanted to raise the subject until we were standing in the middle of the bog, which seems unlikely as we have some talkative and opinionated characters. Also, has anyone actually mentioned that anything is coming? If they have I missed it. If not then quite a few of us are going to be taken unawares by his arrival. Aalmon and Azhur's squire Othor's healing of the horses is very successful; through a combination

of

magic and prosiac knowledge they will be fit to

ride

within a day and will be able to be pushed within

a

week. Despite Jareena's great skills at healing, and especially against chaos wounds, Vicetor is

clearly in

trouble. You will either have to spend significant time (like a day) engaging in spiritual conflict

with

the chaos, or spend a Hero Point to boost your

succes

to a critical. The mudskipper doesn't have much out of the

ordinary

to say. It has a happy life and the area of the

swamp

that is non-chaotic is sufficient in size for its lifestyle. In the meantime, I really need to know what sort

of

preparations you are all doing with regards to the approach of the Nameless Man. He is known to

possess

others leading them on to murderous rampages,

although

often the victims "had it coming to them"

according to

folklore. At the same time his possessions have

also

led people away from deadly situations. There is, of course, great debate on who he

actually

is.
