Aalmon listened to this tale of horror gently rubbing his amulet as the
story unfolded, then at the end stood and grasped his axe its head still
covered with a leather sleeve. "I am Aalmon the Far Rider, envoy of the
city of Riverjoin in the Arrolian lands. Three times now I have met with
the wolf folk and each time my axe-blade has remained covered. We have
come in friendship and faced with such evil there is only one thing to
do, soon the time will come for me to unsheathe my axe and for its
starfire to blaze alongside the men of the wolf. "
"We have come to right a wrong and to bring peace but events have
overtaken us, perhaps now we must seek beyond an uneasy peace and become
allies against the horror of the not-dead. I ask that you show me the
way to where this battle will be so that I can either stand or fall
alongside the Wolf brethren."
He turns to Tallboot "Thank you sir for bringing us so far. My path is
clear to me but no man can ask another to face such horrors, if Fioros
will agree to my request then I will take my leave and return your
kindness should I be fortunate enough to meet with you again."
Turning to the others he spoke more quietly "I see my path before me
clearly but it is for you to decide if it is also you path, although I
would dearly love to have you beside me in this."
