Aalmon scowled up at the bleak clouds "Foul weather for travelling yet
travel we must. Unless we want to wade through knee-deep mud all the way
we might be better off finding a boat and using the river. What do you
say?" he said turning to the others.
"We should have time to discuss what we can do when we arrive. We face a
frightening enemy and perhaps we would each face it in a different way,
if we learn from each other I daresay we will become stronger. I will
start. In the stories I heard as a child the heroes faced the undead
with celestial powers of fire and light and burned away the foul impure
things, although against such strength even those with great magics and
enchanted weapons were not always safe. I can wield the light and fire
of the stars, this is how I would face the undying. I have the more
subtle powers of the star twins that can see all in the dark and yet
remain unseen, this is how I would avoid the undying until at the
battlefield of my choosing. My mentor always said that to win a battle
takes surprise, speed and shock. If we can wield all three then we might
prevail."
